ASI Stages and Camera Triggered High Speed Scanning

One of the limitations of current software packages is the delay time to move+capture images between the camera and a stage. Most of this is based on the software and it’s requirement to communicate closely with the stage and camera.

ASI has managed to come up with some ways of avoiding this issue, by allowing the operator to generate arrays of step locations, lists of points, and even scan at speed commands, all directly within the stage controller itself. This method of communication turns the capture software into a simple storage system, and the control of the stage is accomplished by directly triggering the stage from the camera. The camera can also be set to capture only when the stage sends a pulse to the camera, thereby ensuring that the stage is stopped and ready for acquistion at it’s next position.
